Doctors Tripathy, Johnston, Cohen, Sagar and Wong attended the 2009, 5th Symposium on Acupuncture and Meridian Studies in Seoul, Korea. They presented concepts of Integrative Oncology to an international audience from Korea, China, and the USA.
Doctors Sagar, Cohen, and Wong subsequently visited the East-West Cancer Center and the Korean Institute of Oriental Medicine in Daejeon. The invitation was kindly received from Dr. Hwaseung Yoo (Deputy Director of East West Cancer Center and Dunsan Oriental Medical Hospital of Daejeon University). The representatives of the Society for Integrative Oncology were impressed with the integrative oncology programs for cancer patients, the education and training programs for students, and their wide scope of research. Arrangements are being made for further collaboration and student exchanges. We look forward to receiving our Korean friends at the Sixth SIO International Conference in New York.
