JOURNAL OF THE SOCIETY FOR INTEGRATIVE ONCOLOGY
JSIO is an important vehicle to communicate with the world
the state-of-the-art science in integrative oncology. As a new
journal, it is important that we support the JSIO with highquality
submissions to have it grow in prestige and to bring
the recognition it deserves. In this era of e-communication,
and as the JSIO is indexed in MEDLINE/PubMed, good science
is transmitted around the world no matter where it is
published.
JSIO is a forum for presenting original research in integrative
oncology. We encourage submission of articles in all areas of
integrative oncology, including: preclinical and clinical studies
of natural products, special diets, and supplements; body
manipulative techniques; clinical trials of acupuncture and,
importantly, studies examining the mechanisms of action;
mind-body therapies; research examining whole medical
systems, including diagnoses and individualized treatment;
and energy-based therapies.
JSIO is also an educational vehicle within the field of integrative
oncology. Special sections on research methodology,
clinical experience and clinical models, educational models,
and state-of-the-science for specific topics are welcome. We
also encourage scientists to submit review articles as this
helps synthesize an area of research, encourage further research,
and guide future studies.
