Almost 800 people from 25 countries attended the Second NARC. The Society for Integrative Oncology organized the symposium, "Integrative Medicine in Cancer Care", which was well attended. Eleven experts presented important clinical, administrative, and research issues that challenge integrative oncology. A panel discussion and question opportunities were held at the end of the session. It was concluded that the professionalism, evidence-base, educational opportunities, and humanistic attributes of integrative oncology continue to expand in many countries. 45% of NCI accredited cancer centers have an integrative medicine program. SIO ran a successful exhibit table that recruited new members who are interested in the progressive practice, research, and educational opportunities in integrative oncology. SIO continues to expand as the premier organization for all professionals and advocates interested in the practice, administration, research and educational dimensions of integrative medicine for cancer patients.
