This study indicated that helping men cope with the stress of prostate cancer before and after prostate cancer surgery may speed up both their physical and psychological recovery by helping to activate the body's immune response. This study also reveals that certain types of stress management exercises can assist in lowering mood disturbance in men with prostate cancer according to a new study by former SIO President, Lorenzo Cohen, PhD and researchers at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. The study is published in the February/March edition of the Journal of Psychosomatic Medicine.
