Integrative Cancer Therapies to Publish Abstracts from 10th International Conference of the Society for Integrative Oncology

The Society for Integrative Oncology is pleased to announce that abstracts from its 10th International Conference, to be held in Vancouver, British Columbia on October 20-22, will be published in the January 2014 issue of Integrative Cancer Therapies (ITC).  ITC is a peer-reviewed quarterly journal focused on the scientific understanding of alternative medicine and traditional medicine therapies, and their responsible integration with conventional health care.  ITC is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Collaborative Work of SIO Committee and Members Results in New Article on Dietary Supplements

The journal Integrative Cancer Therapies has just published online a new article resulting from the the collaborative work of the Clinical Practice Committee of the Society of Integrative Oncology (SIO) and SIO members that are actively engaged in consulting cancer patients about the use of supplements.

JCO Systematic Review of Acupuncture in Cancer Care: A Synthesis of the Evidence

Many cancer centers offer acupuncture services. To date, a comprehensive systematic review of acupuncture in cancer care has not been conducted. The purpose of this review was to evaluate the efficacy of acupuncture for symptom management in patients with cancer.
