The mission of the Consortium for the Globalisation of Chinese Medicine is to advance the field of Chinese herbal medicine to benefit human kind through joint efforts of the academic institutions, industries and regulatory agencies around the world.President of SIO, Stephen Sagar MD, attended the Conference in Nottingham, U.K. (26-28th August, 2009) as a member of a panel to evaluate the role of Chinese herbal therapies used as anticancer therapies and for supportive care.

The Panel on Liver and Cancer
SIO will be discussing institutional membership of CGCM, which already incorporates members from about 100 institutions that include various organizations, universities, industry, and government. CGCM is led by Yale Professor of Pharmacology, Tommy Cheng.
