Cancer Patients' advocate, Helen Moss, appointed to Ohio Womens' Hall of Fame

Board member, Helen Moss, was appointed to the 2009 Ohio Womens' Hall of Fame by  Governor Strickland.

The Ohio Women's Hall of Fame was founded in 1978 and has 356 members. It provides public recognition for the achievements of Ohio women that better their state, their country and their world. Stephen Sagar, President of SIO, congratulated Helen on behalf of the Executive and Board. "The Society for Integrative Oncology is proud to have Helen Moss on our Board as patient advocate; this award is also recognition of the many diligent women that have contributed to oncology and cancer care", commented Sagar. "Women bring a special sense of compassion and wholeness into health care, as well as innovative scientific ventures; integrative oncology equally incorporates both feminine and masculine values, balancing both the yin and the yang". Helen, with great humility, thanked a special team of women who had inspired and helped her in social activism and the promotion of integrative medicine, including her mother (deceased one year ago), Barrie Cassileth PhD, and Hilary Clinton, to name but a few.
